Join the Y Today
More than just a gym, a pool, or a place for fitness; YMCA members experience a sense of belonging that can't be found anywhere else! Our locations give friends and neighbors across Washington County many ways to take care of their health through our growing programs and services. Here are just a few of the benefits of membership:
What You Can Expect As A Member
The YMCA of Washington County provides day, after school and weekend programming for youth ages 6 months - 15. We offer a host of programs that promote healthy spirit, mind and body through intellectual, social and recreational activities. Members receive special rates on day camp and other programs for children. All programs/services provided are non-refundable, non-transferable.
Swimming and Water Activities
Our facility has an indoor pool where water aerobics activities and recreational swim are offered. During the summer, our staff manage swimming pools in Washington and Kalona communities. Certified lifeguards staff our pool, and our swim lessons are taught by trained instructors.
Wellness and Fitness Classes
With your membership, you may choose from many exercise classes geared toward the beginner to the fitness enthusiast. Our YMCAs offer spin, body fit, body sculpt, power pump, TBC, boot camp, senior fit and many other group exercise classes. All taught in a fun, welcoming environment.
Strength and Cardio Equipment
Our YMCAs have a variety of strength and cardio equipment for members. Whether you prefer running on a treadmill, cycling beside a friend, reading while on an elliptical trainer, lifting free weights or using strength training equipment, you may do it at the Y.
Fitness Assessments and Personal Training
Our health and wellness staff, along with certified personal trainers, are available to help you design a fitness program that meets your individual needs.
Our YMCAs are membership organizations open to all individuals. The YMCAs welcome genders of all ages, races, ethnicities, religions, abilities and financial circumstances. Programs’ embrace diversity, reflecting the needs and composition of the community we serve.
In addition to the aforementioned benefits, we also offer:
Companies in the Washington County area have partnered with the YMCA in improving the health and overall quality of life for their employees. The YMCA works with companies in their communities to determine the needs of employees and their families. Together, we are strengthening our communities.

For this reason, the YMCA monitors the sexual offender registry. Persons on the list or who have been convicted of a crime against a minor will not be eligible for a YMCA membership, program participation, employment or volunteer opportunities at the YMCA of Washington County.
